Weekend Round-up 12-14 June
Another week is done and dusted and it’s time to think about how you’re going to spend all that money you’ve just earned. Luckily, SCENE.LU is here with a few suggestions for your work-addled brain.
To get things rolling, how about a night on the tiles in Esch. You, and about 5000 other souls that is, as The Pet Shop Boys bring their all singing, all dancing, multi-media, Pandemonium Tour spectacular, to the Rockhal on Saturday night. This is only the third night in a mammoth European and World tour to promote smash new album ‘Yes’, which has been wowing critics pretty much everywhere, and comes hot on the heels of the duo picking up a BRITS (British music Oscars) lifetime achievement award. The show will feature material from ‘Yes’ and, of course, a greatest hits selection.
Moving on from camp, to tents. If you were a regular reader you’ll have noticed us plugging the Little Woodstock festival in Ernzen, Larochette this weekend, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday. If your budget is running low already, then this is the event for you. At only €12 for two days music, camping and parking thrown in, you won’t find a cheaper way to while away a weekend. See Wednesday’s article for details. Oh, and the way things are looking, you might want to throw in a pair of Wellingtons along with that tent.
Somewhere where Wellingtons won’t be required is Friday night at Exit07, where Telefon Tel Aviv, a Chicago-based electronica band do their funky thang, and in an effort to cut down your expenses, or more likely, leave you with more beer money, SCENE.LU is running a competition for free tickets to the show.
COMPETITION - WIN 2×2 TICKETS for entrance on friday night via the guestlist. Complete below [all fields required]. Winners will be picked at random and notified on 12 June at 16h via email.
Don’t forget to also enter the competition for the Adeaters event [you have until 11h55 this morning].
Also don’t forget the Charity Golf Day which was featured earlier this week. Golf tournaments and fun for all the family in aid of the Kick Cancer into Touch Charity at the Kikuoka Golf Club in Canach.
And finally, a reminder that the ’Great Expectations’ photographic exhibition in the Casino - Forum d’art contemporain, closes after Sunday 14th, so if you haven’t already seen it, now is your last chance.
Whatever you do this weekend, have a good one…
